The association

Kite en Ré is a French non-profit association (loi 1901) bringing together kitesurfers and wing foilers, mainly from the north of Île de Ré and its surroundings. Our goal: to promote and grow these two sports in a friendly, safe and environmentally respectful setting.

Our history

Founded in 2016 by a group of local riders, a WhatsApp group called "Kite en Ré" grew season after season thanks to its members' involvement, naturally opening up to wing foiling as the sport developed on the island. Today, Kite en Ré has become an association that encourages group sessions among members, makes it easier to access gear and spots, and represents the interests of kitesurfers and wing foilers with local stakeholders.

Our values

Safety

Reminders of right-of-way rules, mutual support on the spots, and awareness of local conditions and quirks (wind, tides, currents, hazards).

Sharing

An association open to every level and every kind of kite, where experienced riders happily advise beginners.

Respect for the coastline

A practice mindful of the wildlife, plant life, and other users of the tidal flats and nature reserve.
